CEREMONIAL BREAD PRESENTATION BY THE MAYOR OF STRATFORD TO ALMSPEOPLE The traditional Richard Smith for Bread Ceremony of the donation of bread to almspeople will take place outside The Almshouses, Church Street, on Tuesday 8th October at 12.30pm. Each year the Charity of Richard Smith for Bread receives £30 from the Governors of King Edward VI Grammar School for distribution of bread to the almspeople. The Mayor of Stratford Councillor Jason Fotjik will be conducting the ceremony.
This year Morrisons have kindly agreed to donate the loaves of bread. John Barrott, the Community Champion from Morrisons said: ”Morrisons have been supporting Municipal Charities for a number of years now, and we are delighted to be able to provide the loaves from our bakery for this year’s Richard Smith for Bread ceremony.
The Municipal Charities of Stratford-upon-Avon administers a range of low cost, self-contained housing whose residents benefit from low level of support from our part-time Scheme Managers, with the added benefit of our emergency response Lifeline facility.
