Mary Newlands Almshouses,  4 one bed cottages also known as 23, 24, 25, 26 Guild Street.

Under the Governing Deed, residents of the Mary Newlands Almshouses are restricted to needy, elderly females from the Town of Stratford-upon-Avon. 

  • One bedroom Cottages

  • Shared laundry
  • All cottages have ‘Lifeline’ for peace of mind
  • WiFi
  • Strict criteria for applicatants. Please note these cottages have a steep stairway and are therefore not suitable for those with limited mobility.
 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be ‘poor widows and spinsters’ who are resident in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon.
  • Applicants will ideally have been resident in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon for at least 12 months.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate to the Trustees that they are in need of the type of accommodation offered.
  • Applicants must be able to live independently and to care for themselves.
  • Applicants should have a friend or family member,  to whom they can turn in times of illness.
